How much would it cost to have a fuel pump replaced on a 1997 Ford Ranger?

From Advance, the pump would cost $200 give or take. That job can be a bear, & I have heard of people paying upwards of $800. There is an easier way to do that than dropping the gas tank; someone made a post on YouTube & gave directions & specific dimensions on where to cut an access panel in the bed of a '02 Sierra (which is what I have); you might find that for your Ranger as well.

I understand the reluctance to do that mod, but your pickup is almost 20 years old, & you can do this relatively quickly & save a ton.
