Does a gender of a leader matter for you?

How is your perspective about the gender of a leader. Does it really matter for you? If it does, what is the gender of a leader you prefer?

The gender of a leader doesn't matter to me nearly as much as their positions. The only thing that concerns me is that for political leaders, women are very under-represented. I wouldn't vote for someone just because they are a woman, but I suppose if there were two people who have the same positions that I think are equally good, and one is female while one is male, I would vote for the female only to allow them to be represented more.

Other than that, I wouldn't vote for someone just because of gender. I vote based on views. For the Democratic party, I'm voting for Bernie Sanders because of his views and would never vote for Hillary Clinton. If Jill Stein was running in the democratic party, who has basically all of the same views as Bernie Sanders, I would vote for her instead.

Should Hillary Clinton get the democratic nomination, I will vote for Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate. While I don't perfectly agree with her or Bernie Sanders, I don't believe socialism can be achieved quickly, and what they are in favor would be a step towards it. Once their views are implemented, then I will support a socialist party candidate. I'm actually not even sure they nominate candidates anymore though. I've not heard them do so.

If there has NEVER been a leader of a particular gender - it does matter. There has to be a reason for that. It sends a message there is a glass ceiling and says to all those of that gender to not even try - you have no hope.

It doesn't matter to me. I honestly don't get people's grievance over the race or gender of a person as a leader. I don't need to share the same genitals or skin color with someone to identify with them.
