How Reliable Are 10 year old Rolls-Royce Phantoms?

I'm thinking of buying a 2005 Rolls-Royce Phantom. Dealer is selling it for 92 thousand dollars, I'm going to be putting 30 thousand down and financing the rest. Call me stupid for financing a 92k car but trust me I'm a car whore and I've always wanted the Phantoms and now that I can afford one, why not buy it.

My biggest concern is the reliability of these vehicles. The one I'm buying has 70 thousand miles on it, which is probably more than it should and definitely more than I've seen most RR Phantoms have. Buy hey, that's why it's being listed for 92k. I won't be using it as a daily driver, I plan to only put only 200 miles (maximum) a month on it and only use it for weekend or special occasion car. What should I look out for in these older phantoms? What are the main issues that go bad on Phantoms? It's obvious the up-keep and the service/repairs are probably going to be more than any other car, but how much more expensive are all these than the S-Class or 7-Series? Thank you for any info you can provide me!!

PS: I'm not rich lmao. I just don't have a wife, any kids, and I still live with my parents so I have no house or utilities expense other than helping out the folks (36 years old, pathetic I know). I earn 3.6k a month.

Assume that the engines are reliable as BMW has been making it for years . . . . just be prepared for inevitable - and very expensive - repairs.  Unlike some makes that can be serviced by any good mechanic, only an RR technician should fool with it . . . . I would guess that an oil change/checkover would be several thousand dollars and any work astronomical.

Only RR I ever had was a '59 Silver Cloud - as simple as an anvil in comparison.  Had a brake job around 1985 and it was over $5000  ($13,000+ adjusted for inflation).  It had single exhaust and when it failed around 1988, just the parts were over $2000 ($6000+ adj).

The price you cite sounds like a bargain - am just saying that you shouldn't expect to drive it and not spend a lot on maintenance.  And the insurance will be extraordinary, too:  if financed, the lender will require good coverage.

Properly maintained a Rolls Royce will be very reliable indeed. The standard of build is second to none. With all cars you get out what you put in. If you stick to the maintenance schedule this car should be trouble free for decades. BTW 70,00 miles for a Roller is nothing.

If you can't pay cash, you can't afford it.  If you have to ASK how reliable it is, you are NOT a 'car whore'.  If you think 7000 miles a year is a lot, you must ride the bus more than you drive.

If you gross $3,600/month, and don't think you are rich, you are a SPOILED BRAT.
If you live with your parents at 36, that last comment was an unjustified insult to spoiled brats.
