High fat feed. Seems to put a nice bloom on them.
I remove mud with a rubber curry and a water hose If I am messing with them.
I pick out feet with a hoof pick.
Other than that mine do not see much "grooming" .
And yet all 3 are in dapples right now, even the aged gelding.

You can feed a good coat on them. And, that does not mean over feeding!!!!...Show more

My new favorite grooming product is ShowSheen Detangler Gel with Argan oil. It does amazing things to my mare's dry, frizzy and dull tail. I don't show her but I appreciate horses with pretty manes and tails and I'm willing to spend the time to make her look pleasing to the eye for absolutely nothing at all but satisfaction lol

Let's see.... I keep a stiff brush and a soft brush in my grooming box. I also keep a hoof pick, rubber bands (to braid her tail and sometimes her mane), BiteFree fly spray (my grooming box is an old tool tote so I have lots of space), baby oil (honestly I have no idea why I keep it in there - I've used it only once lol), one mane and tail Oster comb, one mane and tail Oster brush, washrags (to clean her eyes and nose thoroughly if I haven't cleaned them in a couple of days or only been doing it with my fingers), two rubber curry combs (why two I have no clue - I only use my blue one), good quality scissors, Polysporin (yes I use human medicine on my horse - it works like a charm and so does Desitin). I have a ton in there, but barely use anything.

I keep a rubber curry, a stiff body brush, a soft brush, a mane/tail brush, a mane comb, scissors, a hoof pick, a towel/small rags. The most I ever use on a daily basis is a soft brush. If he's sweaty, I just hose him off. He stays in a stall so he's never really dirty. At a horse show, the tail brush is my best friend for getting the tail looking good (much better than a comb). For the body, I still just use the soft brush most of the time, usually after spraying him down with a moisturizing spray or show sheen. I use the rags to wipe off his face or clean his nose/eyes, apply the grease, or just to go over his body (with a damp rag) to get the dust off before walking in the ring.

As far as extra supplies go, I also have face grease, hoof polish, cover up spray, show sheen, and equine moisturizing spray that all get used regularly at horse shows....Show more

My dog doesn't need much grooming, but I like a slicker brush and a rubber curry.

Edit: Hmm. When I answered this, the question was in Dogs. In my horse grooming bucket, I have a shedding blade, Grooma Groomer for the body and one for the face, two stiffer/medium body brushes, two softer natural brushes, a rubber curry, a rubber grooming mitt, a human hair brush and wide toothed comb, and a hoofpick with a brush. I use a 4 step/2 fisted (one brush in each hand) approach to grooming horses, starting with shedding blade and Grooma and ending with the two soft brushes....Show more

In my grooming kit, I keep 2 curry combs, a stiff bristle brush, a soft brush, and a plastic in-between brush for grooming when my mare is wet. I also keep a hoof pick, a mane/tail comb, and rubber bands for braiding manes and tails. I also have horse shampoo, hair spray, baby lotion, and a roll of paper towels....Show more
