Boxing: If Wilder Povetkin is called off, what is next for Wilder?

Povetkin failed a drug test.

Unification. It won't be called off since Povetkin had very low amount of substance and probably from when he used to take it from when it wasn't banned. I don't remember the name of the enhancer but it didn't get banned by WADA till Jan 2016 so more then likely they said whatever athlete who used it before its banishment, has it in his or her system still and in this case its Povetkin.

he could still get a good match up, pulev beat chisora last week and took absolutely no damage whatsoever, he will still be fit from his training camp and im sure he wouldnt turn down a title shot even at short notice. and there are many B level fighters at heavyweight who stay fit all year round, someone decent should get a fight with wilder if povetkin is banned. Even shannon briggs would be a good fight.

I really wanted to see this fight but Povetkin failed his drug tests. I won't blame him if he canceled it because it's not fair for him to put himself at a big disadvantage. He would also be fighting in Russia so that would be even harder. I'll give him even more credit if he still fought him and beat him. That takes courage.

To answer your question, he can sit out and wait for Ortiz. That would set him up with a fight against Joshau if he won.

Yah, i just heard...screw it...Wilder would have destroyed him anyways....not that interesting of a match to be honest. Maybe Joshua or Ortiz or anybody thinkin they're bad azz in the HW???
