And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
Rev 13:12 (KJV)

Revelation 13:12 is talking about that old serpent, the first beast was the great red dragon (Rev 12:3), the second beast was the dragon minus it's wings and fire, and third beast is the serpent who was the dragon minus it's legs. Revelation 12:3-17 gives the names of all 3 beast in chronological order starting with the great red dragon and ending with the serpent.

Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, and it was this same serpent that Moses worshiped that made fire come down from the sky in the sight of men.

It was this same serpent who told Moses to make an image of a serpent, an image of himself and those that bowed down to the image would live and those that would not would die (Numbers 21:8)

The true meaning of Rev 13:12 is telling the readers that the serpent was the False Christ and Moses was the False Prophet.

NOTICE: Descendants where passed through a woman not a man, just like the birth of Jesus, and John 1:13 both imply

I don't have time to go into details, but the second Beast is a Pope; the head of a false church, who is going to go along with the Antichrist. HE will become engaged in Antichrist's requirements, and push the West into servitude to the Antichrist.

In the end times, there will be the Antichrist, and his assistant called the False Prophet. The False Prophet will tell everyone to worship the Antichrist or be killed. The Antichrist will appear to have overcome some type of "fatal wound". Although the AntiChrist wont have the power to rise from the dead like Jesus did, it will appear like he did.

The beast, or wild beast, is man without God, set in appostion to the Lamb of God and those joined to Him.

The first beast arises from the sea and the second from the Earth. Each has symbolic significance but in effect are one and the same, without God and of this world only.

The second beast has two horns like a lamb - his power appears benign - but speaks as a dragon - what he says and preaches destroys being words just like the Devil, lying, blasphemous, deadly and of terrible consequences, promoting this world and to ravage and destroy the soul and God’s Kingdom.

13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
… And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast – man without God and from the same source, the Devil, with the same reach and ability, and to the same end to obtain dominion and worship, just expressed through a different medium or vehicle. In particular to devour the vine of God, the planting of the Lord, Psa 80:13 The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.
… before him – man was first religious, now here he is secular. In both characters he is without God.
… causeth the earth and them which dwell therein – we dwell in Christ, all others dwell in this world and are deceived and so worship the beast, which has many manifestations.
… to worship the first beast – which is the same and from the same source. Secular ideologies now occupy the same demands that religious ones once did. It all comes back to the same thing, it is just the different guises and disguises, and its particular aim is to devour the vine of God, Psa 80:13 The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.
… whose deadly wound was healed – many claim this is a parody of Christ’s Sacrifice and Resurrection but why would the Devil parody something that would give opportunity for the truth to be seen? Especially since he already holds this world in deception. Rather the deadly wound is the spiritual death from sin, brought to light by the witness of God through the word of God, the preaching of the Gospel in the power of the Spirit. The wound is healed when that preaching is overcome and man is able to continue by the life in the flesh. God’s word inflicts a deadly wound upon the kingdom of darkness but the Devil’s lies give a recovery of life in the flesh.

Mna without God is likened to a wild and savage beast and he has that mark. The species is not named because there are many wild and dangerous animals each with a different type of deadliness. Lions, bears, snakes and all the other wild and dangerous animals all employ different methods to kill but all are alike in being deadly.

Worship is exaltation voluntarily given. We see how different men are given exaltation and have followings and especially if they offer something that diverts from, overcomes or takes away from the truth. The natural will follow natural things and reject spiritual. The sinful heart will incline to a sinful life and reject righteousness. Any bent against their nature will be made miserable. That is why the heart and nature needs to be changed. Righteousness is an abomination to the unrighteous as unrighteousness is an abomination to the righteous. Only by God or those changed by God can any be righteous.

It is easy to see how the world rejects and ignores and leaves God out of its life.

The beast that received a fatal wound but recovered is the League of Nations/United Nations. It is to this beast, that the other beasts, (earthly governments) give their power.
