Why is AC not blowing in back rooms?

Before you answer, please read.

1 We closed off a lot of the vents in the rest of the house. The thing is, the AC keeps trying to blow through them. These vents, while closes, still have more air coming through them then in the room.

2 The vent in the room is not blowing at all. It's more like the air is just "lingering" there and sometimes leaks into the room.

3 I've taken the vent off and left it open entirely at one point, and no air was coming through. I also looked as far down as possible and didn't see anything blocking the airway.

Vent is on the wall, not ground. It really sucks sleeping in 90 degree heat with no air flow in the room (5 fans have not helped). Right when you get near the room you can just feel a wall of heat hit your face.

It would appear that section of duct has pulled or broken loose somewhere back down the line. Can you get in the attic and have a look?
Once on a service call (in the summer in Miami) I was surprised to find the attic rather cool. As I crawled through the attic I found a section that was torn loose and pumping cold air like mad. I asked the home owner about her bill and she said it had been higher than usually for several months, and yes the 2 back bedrooms were very warm. We then determined that the alarm tech may have crushed it as he was a rather large guy and had been up there several months before.

IF you have closed off the vents that get air before the room, then there should be air coming out of the vent in that room. If not and the air is coming out the other rooms, there must be some type of blockage somewhere before the room at the end of the run. It is often cheaper and easier to buy a window unit for that room.

you would need to look at the entire duct to see if it is blocked. With the other 2 closed it should be blowing through. Until then, set up the fans in the house so that they move the air to the room with no AC.

You would need to go into the attic to see if it is connected. And never shout off your vents to the air conditioner.
