The infestation is in my kitchen, discovered that they were attracted by the cat´s food, cat´s food promptly dumped (to the great displeasure of said cats) but the little blighters (the ants, not the cats) dont seem to be getting the message

Ant bait that comes in plastic disks deals will attract the ants and they will go into them and take the bait to their nest and in some time the ants will be taken care of.
They might be ants that like protein and protein bait is needed.
If they like sugar, a sugar based bait is needed, like Terro.
