Truck doesnt shift after 3,000rpms please help!?

Hey guys i have a 2005 ford ranger xlt and i noticed today when I hit the gas hard and the truck goes to about 3,000rpms and then the truck like shakes and the rpm gauge shoots up to 4,000rpms. When the truck is in park and i hit the gas it goes to 3,000rpms amd then the truck starts shaking really bad. What could be my problem? Please help.

I wanna know what happens to your truck too. Sounds pretty weird. Have you tried turning it off and then back on? Just kidding. :)

sounds like its engine related. find a shop to look at it before you start throwing money at it till the problem is repaired
