Are Michael Kors purses worth owning?

Personally, I don't really like their style. For the same price, you could get Coach purses which are also worth looking into. The only problem I see is that they are very tacky. The "MK MK MK MK MK" pattern makes you look like a walking billboard. As for the other ones, they are OK - I don't see anything striking but they are not bad and quite well-made.

They do bring a sense of status and they are quite prestigious to own but as a low-end designer brand, it's obviously not as prestigious as an LV, Dior, Prada, Mulberry, Chanel, Celine, Hermes, etc....Show more

How do you define "worth"?

My wife loves them. She asks me to buy her three every time I go to the USA. She sells two of them here in Singapore, and makes enough money to pay for all three, and then some. Any $400 MK costs $600 in Singapore.

All that being said, like most alleged "Designer" items, they are a very bad investment. Say you pay $400-$600 for a bag. At the season end, the same bag will be in the MK, or Dillards outlet store at $150-$200. Anyone telling you that a "designer" item is destined to go up in value is an idiot. Sure some people get lucky once in a while, but on average, "designer" stuff is dirt cheap once the new models come out.

Overall they are pretty well made. My wife has about 12. She only ever ruined one. If your pen leaks, you cannot remove ink. The stain lasts forever....Show more

They're extremely overrated. I don't like the style and they're not as high end as the wearers love to pretend. They're just an average midrange brand with forgettable styles. I'd rather spend less money on a nicer vegan bag from a nice brand such as Gunas, Matt & Nat, Robert Matthew, Mary Point, Angela Roi, Denise Robool, Labante, Freedom Of Animals, or Alexandra K....Show more
