I have a 17 foot Fi Glass Dominator with a 140 Johnson is it overpowered?

The boat is rated for a 90 hp outboard, but the Dominator is a high-sided, stable hull, so adding some horsepower shouldn't be a problem. The extra weight is only about 45 lbs, so that won't be an issue, and you don't have to push the throttle all the way, do you?.

Slightly, but it's fine

Probably not. The yellow placard (sticker) on the stern of the boat will tell you the capacities of your boat.

The boat is rated for certain engine sizes/powers, check the manual (or the rating plate, if there is one).
