Rent a house with no income?

I was a North Carolina Special Ed HS teacher and I just resigned to moved to the Sacramento area. I arrived in Sac for 3 days now and am looking for a house to rent. I just received an email saying that if I have no income at the moment then I cannot rent the house I was looking at. I was told that for me to qualified I must have a ridiculous amount of $50,000 in my account to qualify.
Is there any way for me to rent with no current income? I've been in town for only 3 days and still trying to get my NC Teaching license to transfer over.

There are plenty of places to rent in Sacto for first and last month's rent and security. You must have an income to rent anything unless you can prove you have another source of steady income or you can pay 6 months rent in advance. You should find a furnished room or extended stay hotel until you get a job.

Rent a motel for now. Then you must have a monthly income of 3 times the
amount of the monthly rent payment. You must show 2 weeks of pay stubs
to prove it. There will be a credit and a background check done as well.
This is what all landlords require.

You will just have to rent a cheap hotel room, hostel or a room in a private house, until you get yourself a job and an income so you can pass the income requirements to rent a place to live

The landlord needs to make sure that his rent will be covered. Maybe you could offer him 3 months of rent up front and hopefully you have stellar credit and some good job prospecvts. Most people plan ahead and give themselves time with a short term rental, like extended stay hotels, etc.

There are places that will rent for cash up front. Try local motels that rent by the week or month. There is that national chain...can't think of the name...put they have nice little places with kitchenettes and a pool. That would tide you over.
