Hello. I am the mother of a daughter who wants to become an actress. I believe she can do it and I'm not just saying that because she is my daughter. Enough about that. Me, her mother, am black and so is her father. She came out with a pale skin tone. Like a skin tone someone who is Caucasian may have. She has a black persons face though. She wants to audition for roles but she doesn't know if she should audition for a role for black girls or white girls. Any advice? Black girl face, white girl skin.

She has training experience, and she has just joined Actors Access. Most of the roles are VERY specific at least in our area.

Looks play a role in casting a specific role but talent, training, experience and an understanding of the business matter far more.
Get your daughter some quality training from respected instructors and experience in things like school plays, community theater, student films and the like. Don't limit her - let her auditions for the roles she feels she can perform well regardless of the color other skin.
Don't get hung up on race or skin tone. Concern yourself with getting her the best training that you can get. Sometimes in the audition process, the producers and directors are open to changing the race and even sex of the role but whatever they do, that's up to them. What's in your power and your daughters power is to be a great actor and be prepared.
She can't audition for anything without an agent and an agent won't touch her without training at an accredited drama school. Nearly all roles are non-race specific and the history of theatre is full of actors of all races and genders swapping identities. It is, after all, called acting.
She auditions for everything she can unless race is specificified. My friend's daughter is biracial and she was one of the Von Trapp children in a local production of "Sound of Music". She just wore a blond wig like some of the other kids
