My car was smoking!?

My 2001 Honda Accord just started leaking coolant and it smokes, because it is spraying onto the engine, it is only on one side and caused my car to get hot today on my drive home, any ideas on how to fix it? Something I could try that is inexpensive first?

*Update*

I found the source of the leak! Thankfully it is a hose that has a puncture seems like it shouldn't be a huge fix, luckily.

Coolant leaks are often cause by bad hoses but can also be caused by bad water pumps, holes in the radiator or just from overheating caused by a defective cooling fan or thermostat. Driving it that way can result in severe engine damage.

Listen dude. if you saw coolant spraying onto the motor and didn't look to see where the leak was coming from you shouldn't even be under the hood! Tow it to a mechanic so you don't blow out the head gasket and get it repaired properly. DON'T put any type of stop leak product into the cooling system.

Maybe U need a radiator or a hose or water pump.

That has happened to my car twice.

I'm no car expert, though.

1st time I took it in they replaced the thermostat. 5 years later the 2nd time they simply said a hose had come undone and they hooked it back in.

It doesn't leak anymore... so far.

Nothing at thins point, that actually fixes your car will be inexpensive. Running the engine while overheated will damage it and the repair will cost a few thousand $$$.
