A relative of mine is going to jail soon. They will be there every weekend for the next 5 weeks. I want to know what it will be like for them because I m already worried enough. I was told that race and size is a big deal and my relative is a short white guy. I want to know what to tell them ie how to act, how to think when they are there. I heard that the weekend guys have to wear a different uniform which makes them stand out and that makes me especially worried.

Hi. I have been to jail. It is scary when you go there for the first time. You have to surrender everything and you have to be strip searched and have to wear a uniform. But as time goes on and you go there more than once then you will get used to it.
Depends on the jail. My dad got stabbed by three guys in jail. No weapons? They make them. lol
But in HIS case, he was a moron. If your dad doesn't start stuff and keeps his mouth shut, shows respect to the other big bad wolves, he won't get blown over unless someone takes a random disliking to him, which happens. Jail is FULL of people who do nothing but whine and get into pissing matches. Pretty much what makes it dangerous.
Tell him to be polite to everyone, but to mind his own business and not antagonize anyone. He should especially be polite to the jailers and follow the rules. On the reverse side, he should keep his mouth shut and spend his time reading or on the jail computer, if there is one he can use. Just have minimal contact. Don't say anything to anyone about politics or religion.
