Is 20 to old for a mature 17 year old to hang out with or possibly date into he future?

I asked this 20 year old guy at work if he wanted to hang out sometime(just hangout). I told him I was 17. We exchanged numbers. I'm worried my parents will think he is to old(specifically my dad!). How should I tell my mom. I don't have magical thinking here. I just want to hang put with him because it seems like we have a lot in common. What should I do? Is he to old?

Just 3 years difference and yeah Dad will say he is too old perhaps.  My daughter is just 21 and dating a guy for over a year that is now 28.  But she is very mature and he, not so much so their maturity levels seem to match well, so we don't have any issues with that.
