Where has the list of categories gone from the left side of the answers?

Can't check out other answers and have no choice of where to go. Very annoying to try to fine a question that interests me to answer.

That has happened to quite a few others. It was fine for me yesterday using Chrome or Firefox and not on Mobile. I cleared my history on Chrome last night and the left side column has now totally gone. It is not just mobile not being in desktop mode as some believe.

The column is still there though on Firefox and IE. No known reason why it happened or if it was caused by Yahoo tinkering with something. You can try F5 refresh but that may not help. Best to try a different browser if using Chrome.
Link to all categories /dir/index which may not even work. Not much we can do but hope it gets back to normal and hope it's not the newest change.

Obviously there are changes being made to the website. It's quite unlikely that anyone knows *where* the categories have gone. You will just have to try and find them on your own.

Often when Yahoo makes changes there is no explanation, but there is often something listed in the Help, and is easy enough to find if you just look.

This change has not happened to me yet, and the idea of these things being affected by a browser is not correct. When these changes are made, they are made for the most popular browsers first, and then they are ported to the other browsers later. So, while it may affect things for now, it won't for long.

When the website gets changed, there not much point asking "why" or "where", or "how", just look around on the page and find where they have been placed. No one is going to have any answers, as Yahoo rarely makes public announcements to where someone would know, so don't believe anyone here that *has* the answer, because they don't. It's just them making a guess, and pretending like they know.

The other possibility is MAYBE Yahoo/Verizon is gutting the website. Maybe it's a prelude to ending it, but, maybe they are experimenting with other designs and yours was among the ones unlucky enough to be chosen for the experiment.

There are a lot of people just like you who are having this same problem both on computers or phones. There are a number of post in this section about it. No one knows why but some seem to think they always have the answer. Like they work for Yahoo. I do not have this problem and hope I don't. But I am sure it will be fix sooner or later.

It's a glitch. The categories are only gone for some browsers. I use the Chrome browser for example and it is fine.

I haven't had that problem. I have Google as a homepage, if that makes a difference.
