Double back cinch?

A friend recently got a 1970s Longhorn saddle with two straps at the back cinch. She is selling the saddle and was asked how the 2 straps work. So, she asked me.
I've only see the 2 straps, where they came together and used the same buckle.
What is the purpose of the two separate straps?

With some help of other horse friends, we came up with this. Aside from spider rigging, it is also called a "steer jerker flank strap" and is basically a rear cinch reinforcement.
It was a Billy Cook, Simco/Longhorn option.

the one to the very rear is a spider...all the rage back then. I have not seen one in years....

To tell the truth... I'd figure they mid dee should be used on for true full rigging and the rear is for the flank strap....
