He liked the smell of burning flesh, what's wrong with that? I found nine special verses in the Bible where is says "For a sweet smelling savour unto the God!" It was in reference to flesh burning on an altar. You can't criticize him for that can you? A lot of people today also like it.
In ancient times the Israelites were commanded to offer burnt sacrifices and this pleased their God Jehovah. Today we are to offer our lips as a sacrifice to God and this pleases God and He blesses those doing it.
(Hebrews 13:15) Through him let us always offer to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips that make public declaration to his name.
