What does it mean if a blind hawk crashes through your porch window?

This morning and old white eyed sparrow hawk crashed through my front porch window. It completely destroyed the window and died on my porch. Is this something kind of omen?

Old folk beliefs are that a bird flying at a window means a death in the house soon. I remember when I worked at a convalescent hospital when I was still in college, and a bird kept flying up against one of the resident's windows. She was doing poorly and was convinced this meant she would die soon.

My boss at the time---a crusty, foul-mouthed woman in her 50s---told me, "I swear I'm going to kill that damn bird." She didn't like it upsetting Vivian, the lady who was doing poorly.

I'm sure it's coincidence, but Vivian did die soon, but she had been in poor health for a long time.

You say it crashed THROUGH your window and died on the porch. Why was it in your house in the first place?

Yes, this is nature's way of identifying gullible superstitious people.
