Jehovah's Witnesses, are they guilty of using quotes out of context?
I have found a few examples that seem to be intentionally using quotes out of context in order to mislead or confuse. Can you help me make a complete list of all such examples? Ones you know about or links to lists or examples of them, either or both. Both their misuse (where it can be found in their materials) and from where they got the quote would be appreciated.
And if you think they are innocent, have at it and defend them / yourselves.

The WTBS is a propaganda machine. Of course if I start listing the mis-quotes and half-quotes from them -- a JW will either deny it was ever made or say it was a 'old light' teaching from the past which we don't believe in anymore.
I find it strange that the watchtower/JW are always trying to justify their doctrine and beliefs (even their NWT) by comparing it to the rest of the christian world which is the whole purpose of the WTBS propaganda machine in the first place.
In other words --see we JWs are right and everyone else is wrong. The JWs rarely compare their faith to the word of God (2Tim 3:15-17)
Here is a list of terms the watchtower teach as being biblical-- so I challenge any JW to find them in the bible.
* Watchtower Society. * 1914. * Blood transfusions. * Old light/new light. * Active force (NWT only) * Governing body. * Unbaptized member ( what on earth does that mean ?) * Pioneers. * Faithful and discreet slave (NWT only)
A JW might weasel out of this by saying the catholics have terms/words like pope, nuns, rosaries, monks etc, and protestants have clergy, virgin birth, holy communion and archbishops or evangelicals have rapture, sinners prayer, God Man, trinity etc, which are not found in the bible.
So why is it wrong for apostate christendom (as the JWs call everyone else) to use non-biblical words but its ok for the JWs to do it ?
NO! AND THE BIBLE EXPOSES MANY CHRISTIAN MYTHS AIDED WITH THE WT AND AW! MAGAZINES.
Myth 1: The Soul Is Immortal Learn what the Bible says about the human soul.
A depiction of hell Myth 2: The Wicked Suffer in Hell Would a God of love really punish people with eternal torment?
Myth 3: All Good People Go to Heaven Will the majority of good people live in heaven or on the earth?
A trinity image Myth 4: God Is a Trinity The statement that there are three persons in one God cannot be found anywhere in the Bible. Why not? #####
A depiction of Mary as a saint Myth 5: Mary Is the Mother of God Learn the origin of Mary worship, and what the Bible really says about Mary. Myth 6: God Approves of the Use of Images and Icons in Worship Learn why the apostle John warned Christians against using idols.
Here are a few examples of how they used quotes out of context (by deliberately excluding relevant sections) and of using anti-Christian sources in an attempt to denounce the Trinity. These examples come form their booklet 'Should You Believe in the Trinity?'
Page 6 – Yale University professor E. Washburn Hopkins affirmed: “To Jesus and Paul the doctrine of the trinity was apparently unknown; …they say nothing about it.” – Origin and Evolution of Religion. Here is the missing part: “The beginning of the doctrine of the Trinity appears already in John. To Jesus and Paul the doctrine of the trinity was apparently unknown.” The point is that while Hopkins believes Jesus and Paul did not know the doctrine of the trinity, in the preceding sentence he says the Gospel of John clearly teaches the trinity doctrine! Why did the WTS leave that sentence out? Furthermore, Hopkins believes Christianity comes from Buddhism! He wrote: “Finally, the life, temptation, miracles parables and even the disciples of Jesus have been derived directly from Buddhism.” The opinion of someone who does not believe in Christianity is used to refute the Trinity.
Page 11 – In the book Egyptian Religion, Siegfried Morenz notes: “The trinity was a major preoccupation of Egyptian theologians… Three gods are combined and treated as a single being, addressed in the singular. In this way the spiritual force of Egyptian religion shows a direct link with Christian theology.” However, the next sentence goes on to say: “In order to avoid any gross misunderstanding, we must at once emphasize that the substance of the Christian Trinity is of course Biblical: Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The three are mentioned alongside one another in the New Testament, probably for liturgical reasons.” Why did the WTS deliberately stop their quotation prior to this sentence? Why did they not want the readers of the Trinity booklet to know that Morenz says the Bible teaches the Trinity doctrine?
Pages 19 & 20 – As the Rylands Bulletin states: “The fact has to be faced that New Testament research over, say, the last thirty or forty years has been leading to increasing number of reputable New Testament scholars to the conclusion that Jesus… certainly never believed himself to be God.” And the missing part from that quotation? “Jesus himself may not have claimed any of the Christological titles which the Gospels ascribe to him, not even the functional designation ‘Christ’ and…” Why did the WTS partially quote from a source that claims Jesus was not the Christ? Would any Christian accept the views of “scholars” who do not believe in Christ Jesus? No wonder they left out that telling part from the quotation!
No. I can tell you a looking for negative comments because you have something personal against them. So man, but they are the most peaceable, honest and moral people I know. Unlike many people today. I don't know any other religion that can come together from all different races and culture and be at peace. Their children respect their parents and even go to people's homes share scriptures with them. JWs do a lot of good for people, go to JW.org and see for your self.
