We are about to do a small deck but we have plans to do more. We have used several battery powered screw guns and have been dissapointined in the batteries. We like the idea over not having to work on hands and knees. So do they come with a cord, rinse on air, what brands are reliable.

DeWalt is what have and am happy. Be sure to get 2 batteries. One in the driver and one charging. Driving screws is the hardest work your driver has to do and will drain any battery pretty fast. If you are going to try to do a large deck, you might want to get help or at least have a third battery depending on how fast you want to work. I took a week to re-deck mine..
Kneeling pas are a good investment just be sure to get the better ones. I bought the cheap ones and had to go back and get the better ones.
I did a combination of sit kneel. It was either hard on the back or hard on the knees.
Best would be corded, with a stick or magazine screw-feed, and an extension to stay standing. Pretty specialized, so it's a decision based on prospects for actual use. Pro tool. http://www.nailgundepot.com/duraspin-screwguns-products.html For cordless, and more versatility, an impact driver-drill, with Lithium-Ion batteries, especially for two-by stock, using Torx fasteners.
Buy a DeWalt 18 volt with a Li-on battery. These tools have real power and the batteries stay long and strong until fully discharged. They take half an hour to recharge. Invest in a kneeling pad too.
