the world is currently on its head right now when it comes to politics and the tensions in the middle east. i was looking into visiting Rome in the next few months. is there any type of "threats" or things that should make me think twice about visiting?

yes is safe, so far we had no problems---- Please remember to keep you money and passport close to your skin, better under your T shirt...pickpochets are everywhere, this is the best information you can get, at the police station hundred of tourists been robbed waiting to give a deposition - be wise, enjoy the trip
