Would you like to have a homo erectus for a friend?

It would be interesting to study their behavior, culture, tool use, etc. but I would prefer a Neanderthal friend.

They are much closer to us (in evolutionary terms) and there is evidence of interbreeding between homo sapiens and Neanderthals. They were thought to have spoken language and a fairly complex culture. I'd love to meet one and try to figure out why they became extinct while we didn't....Show more
