My puppy has entered the "playing with my poop is fun" stage or at least I really hope this is just a stage. He's also started taking a little nibble of it. How do I stop him???

Wow Yahoo answers really has gone to the dogs! Anyway went to the vet (his last series of shots) and he gave me this power crap called "Forbid". We'll see what happens. Also to all that said just pick it up yeah I could if I was home 24 hours a day.

Hopefully, he will outgrow it. In the meantime, correct him and clean up his poop immediately.
We have rescued 5 pups. None have this problem. Others have this problem so we investigated about it. Results; 1. Deficient of vitamin D. 2. Change diet from once to twice a day. 3. When adopting and training, follow pup and utilize a stop command. 4. Pup is hungery and after being starved will eat ..anything.
I don't necessarily agree with anything from the above. but want to offer it up.
Pick it up. There are many reasons put forward for why this happens, and as many 'remedies', most of which I have tried - and fact is the only way to stop this is to pick up, immediately.
You might look at the food he's eating - cereal-based dog food often passes through without being fully digested so it's still somewhat appealing when it comes through!! You should use a meat or fish based food, not one that lists cereal as the first ingredient. It may help.
You keep the puppy on a leash when peeing or pooping so you have control. Teach the puppy "LEAVE IT" and pull the puppy aways from the poop. Clean up the poop daily.
