I need to download a copy of a document on Google Drive to convert it to PDF?

I made a document on Google Drive and want to save a copy to my desktop as a PDF. I downloaded Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash Player and neither one will let me makes edits. Do I have the wrong program? Any other suggestions?

When I download it and look at it when its on reader there is a blank page on it that I cannot delete, but there isnt a blank page on google drive but a dashed line...

The Adobe product you would need is Adobe Acrobat DC. It's the Adobe product that can both create, and edit, PDF files.

There are other editors out there. Adobe Acrobat DC is the gold standard.
