Why is Devin McCourty being such a DB in refusing to go to the White House?

Because he thinks he is taking a stand for something he believes in...whatever that is.
We live in America, it's a free country and he is free to act on his beliefs. However, to me the white house visit should not be about politics. he is a member of a "team". If the team wins the Championship and is invited to an event then I think all members of that team should be there regardless of your beliefs whatever they might be. In my opinion he is in some ways turning his back on his teammates even though he claims to not feel "welcomed" in the Whitehouse.
I like that he is part of the Patriots and support the freedoms we have as Americans but in this case he is making his personal views more important than his team.

If stating an opinion is being a douchebag then I guess Brady is one for openly supporting Trump then, huh?

Funny, when I was learning all about "patriotism" I never once had a single teacher, nor either of my parents, or anyone I respected tell me that if I played pro football some day and won a Super Bowl that it was my "patriotic duty" to go the White House.

I suggest you get used to it. I guarantee he won't be the last to refuse to go see President Cheeto.- many more players will do the same.

I don't know but it isn't a requirement. Many refuse in order to make a point. Some people understand while others dont get or refuse to get the point.

It's a free country. If you don't like it, maybe you should move someplace else.

Brady didn't go to the White House last time when the black dude was President either.
