I have a question regarding to work?

My grandma had to go into the hospital and I got a phone call being asked to leave work and come down immediately my manager nonchalantly saya come back with a Dr note. How am I being asked to come back with a note when I'm not the one in the hospital?

If she is dying, on her deathbed, then her doctor shouldn't mind writing a brief letter to your employer. If it was not a matter of life and death, and considering you are just a grandchild, not the immediate next of kin, then you should not have taken time off work. Either produce the letter or accept the unjustified absence from work.

just xerox the first page of her medical record from the hospital ... that'll prove she's there

Any note from the hospital saying your grandmother was there should suffice. A lot of people use the "my relative is in the hospital" excuse to miss work and your manager wants to verify that you were actually visiting the hospital.

Get a note from the hospital saying that your grandmother is there. Your manager just wants to know that you're not lying to go out partying.

Because you are the one who is missing work.
