Why dont schools teach LGBT+ content?

because the people write the curriculum are straight dudes who've never even considered it as a topic. Even if they did, do you really trust a committee of straight guys to produce accurate, up to date content that's not bias. AND do you really expect teachers to reliably and accurately deliver that content without bias to their students?

The high school I went to does. When I was a senior we had a whole unit on sexuality and gender identity in health class.

School is about getting a career, and some other life skills. Learning about gaylords does not constitute any of that.
