Does freewriting help get rid of writer's block?

I been dealing with a severe case of writer's block. It is so annoying that I can't think what my story will be about. I don't have a timer so how many minutes should I free write?

Does freewriting help get rid of writer's block? It might. Try it and see. I've heard of writers who start their writing day by writing nonsense for 15 or 20 minutes, just to warm up the parts of their brain that they use when writing.

How long should you write for? There's no right answer. Long enough that it helps, I suppose, but not so long that it stops being helpful. Try 30-minute bursts to start with, but be prepared to do longer or shorter sessions.

There as many answers to that question as there are writers and we are all right or we are all wrong.......I've tried them all and usually end put writing a paragraph at a time and that darn thing takes a beating. I mean we have a knock down, let it fly fight and then his brothers shows up and after a bit I'm free to run, jump, spit and holler. I wish you good luck and hope your black eye was not as bad as mine.

Write 3 pages handwritten every day. Or 1500 words a day.
