Can a self employed person, such as a novelist, incorporate & get health insurance without having to worry about higher premiums due to age?

No. Depending on what state you are in, your corporation needs 2 - 3 employees on that health plan - with payroll - in order to get a group plan; and that group plan would still be individually underwritten.

There is no place where age doesn't matter. Whether individual, small group, large group, etc... Age matters. Even if you get one rate for all individuals, it's built on an aggregate of ALL of the individual ages in the group.

EVERYONE worries about higher premiums due to age.
With employer based insurance, the cost is based on the median age.
If you are a small group plan, the cost is different for each age group.

No. For a small corporation, and certainly any corporation that has only one person, premiums are based on the age. Even if you get insurance through the corporation, you will still have to pay higher premiums due to age.

Before Obamacare my spouse and I had a two person business and were able to get insurance.
