Is "eats" stupid slang?

That is such "bro"-hating, hence anti-Italian, gangsta nonsense. Just cause we're both non-white doesn't mean we get along
"Eats" as in saying, for instance, "The best eats in NY"

I don't find it offensive and could see it in a local magazine describing the food at a restaurant. I've seen phrases like "serious eats" and "good eats." Not really street slang.
