Hey Rock & Pop! Did you know that was a cover?

Ever dig a song only to discover it's not an original? Post the original of that song.

I owe this knowledge to vtd288 who schooled me on The Nerves. Their song was re done by Blondie.

"I Fought the Law" -- everybody knows it as done by The Clash, but it was originally by The Crickets.

Morning LIv! When I was in college, Sepultura was one of the bands my friends and I listened to most. When 'Chaos A.D.' came out my opinion was totally opposite to that of everybody else I hung out with. They all loved it, with the exception of 'The Hunt', while to me that was the single (very) bright spot on a very mediocre album. It was years before I learned it wasn't even their song originally.

Sepultura's cover is much better IMO.

Hi Liv,
It's funny, I can't tell you how many times I told people about what a trip it was that Minor Threat covered the Monkees with Steppin Stone. I only found out a year or two ago that it was actually a Paul Revere and his Raiders song originally. Totally tripped me out.
