Images from Canon Powershot D1100 IS to IPhone 6?

So I have this older Canon Powershot and I want to use it for taking photos while fishing on off a tripod. I am not overly tech savvy but I have the USB for the camera and I have a USB to Lightning connector for my IPhone. So in theory my thoughts were I could just connect all of the cables and access the images off t phone. I guess number 1 is this possible? and number 2 is that I have everything connected currently but do not see how to access the images off the phone. If anyone knows if this is possible or how to do this I'm all ears.

***Thank you for the answers. Seems I am SOL but will make due and continue using me IPhone on the tripod for now. Once I am able I'll purchase a wifi/Bluetooth camera.

No, it won't work.

Won't work for many reasons. Your best bet would be to put your A1100 in video record mode and then later download the video to your computer and then upload the video to your camera. You will have to convert the file from motion jpeg to the apple format.

That doesn't work with iOS devices.
Apple choses not to support USB on the go. There are a few card readers that will let you transfer photos from an SD card.

Find out if a wi-fi card might work for it. I think the tables may be wrong for the storage to work via wire.

Find the SD1100 in the list:

Can't find a Powershot D1100. What camera is it?

If whatever camera it is can be connected you'd need to use the Canon Connect App, but you'd have to check if it was compatible.
