How did the Bible authors know, and remember, exactly how many people witnessed Jesus doing things? Did they sell tickets?

5000 people witnessing him feeding them with a few baskets of fish and bread? 500 witnessing him flying up to heaven?

The Bible words are written with the help of Holy Spirit and not just man. That is why it is the Word of God. God remembers and knows everything.

Bible is different from any other book. When true believers read the Bible, the Holy Spirit speaks to them through those unchanging Words.

Extraordinary things are hard to forget and as far as knowing the number, God knows, Christ could know, they're omnipotent

The stories in the Bible were put into writing 100s of years after the fact. They were tales handed down from father to son for generations. If you have ever played the game 'telephone' you have a very good grasp of how things go when the information is passed from person to person. Something as simple as the word "banana" can change to "your mom wears combat boots" after its been whispered across a chain of 10 to 15 kids.

No, but the only one selling something is you. So buyer beware, you're buying from a fool who probably doesn't have their own life together!

It's likely that terms such as "five thousand" and "forty days and nights" are literal translations of figurative idioms meaning "too many to count". For example when we say "I've told you a million times. " we don't literally mean that they've been told on 1,000,000 separate occasions.
