Feminism is an epithet, it started out as a slur, a cuss word for the people supporting human-rights for females, they were 'obsessed' with women, hence, feminism.
In the European tradition though, the movement took the slur, and made it a badge of honour.
So no, it's not an -ism, because it doesn't describe what they do, it's a badge of honour-term, like Jarhead, or Cheesehead.
