Mormons and monotheistic polygamists; academic question for you.?

In regards to Christianity, if God wanted polygamy to be okay, why didn't he make Adam , Eve, Susan, Mary, etc. instead of just Adam and Eve. I'm only curious so please keep it civil.

Good question :)

1. Academically speaking, this point does not nullify polygyny in any sense. You have to demonstrate the premise that God did not want polygyny to be legal first and only then does this point (of Adam/Eve) become a supporting evidence. Without that premise proven, it does not imply that polygyny is illegal per se. >> The textual evidence shows otherwise. Various men of God in the Bible engaged in polygyny. I am sure they [having direct ties with God as Abraham, Soloman, etc did] knew better regarding what God intends.

2. I am a Muslim who believes in polygyny. My religion teaches that Allah (God) has given men the two options: monogamy or polygyny. So both ways are acceptable per Islam and neither is required. The Adam and Eve story show that monogamy is perfectly fine. The example of Soloman, etc.. show that polygyny is also perfectly fine.

We cannot pick and choose if we want to be academically objective and true to the Scriptures.

We. Are. Not. Polygamists. That being said, there are biblical accounts of polygamy being practiced by Godly men. And religion aside, why do you even care what consenting adults do with their marriages?
