How will electric sport cars compete with regular electric cars?

Mercedes built a 700 horsepower all electric car tesla also has a 600+ hp all electric car electric cars are faster then gas cars because they have all their hp at the second you tap the gas the downside is the usually can't drive more then 30 minutes if your driveing it hard also electric cars are usually about 1,000 lbs heavier batteries weigh more then engines think of how heavy a car battery is that's just to power electric systems.
