Sometimes a hard drive failure that you're being warned about is just a growing virus that's getting bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger more often than not however the motor is about to burn out in which case what you need to do is when you start seeing smart hard drive failure you need to get another hard drive make a system image and transfer everything over to it while you still can

you can turn Off SMART WARNINGS usually in your BIOS. but the idea of SMART is, SMART is a way your drive itself, keeps watching its own success at reading/writing data to disk sectors. it then predicts what will happen in the near future. if faults occur close together it will trigger a SMART flag which suggests within a few STARTS the hard disk will DIE and become unusable. it is telling you your disk will last only a few more STARTS. therefore you would be WISE to START a clean OS eg Hiren's 15.2 to MiniXP(from booting a CDrom of Hiren's) and COPY OFF YOUR PRECIOUS DATA BEFORE THE DISK IS DEAD. fair warning given. good luck, you have just a few STARTS remaining don't wast even one of them.

I agree with Adrian, my friend.

The error that you see clearly states to replace your HDD. It's only a matter of time before it fails you altogether, where you won't even be able to boot up your computer at all.

You don't stop it, you listen to it. Replace your HDD immediately. SMART is warning you of impending failure of your HDD. Read what it says, it is telling you the same thing I just did. Backup up your important data right away.

SMART is an internal HDD diagnostic. The HDD is telling you it is having serious errors.
