What is reliable computer backup system? Auto back-up of documents without me remembering. Documents is all I need it for. Carbonite?
Hopefully, not too expensive.

It depends on what type of backup system you want. Do you want a locally run backup program, or do you want online backup, where your files are sent over the Internet.
I tend to prefer local backups, where the drives are backed up to another local drive. I prefer this because it's faster, more reliable, and more secure. It's downsides are that it requires that you buy and install a secondary local drive for it, which adds some expense. Some newbies aren't familiar with how to even use a secondary drive, so you'll have learn that skill if you're a newbie. Mainly expense, and inconvenience.
Online backups back your files up over the Internet. Advantage of this is that it's extremely convenient and easy to setup. You don't have to provision any additional drives, the data is sent to a cloud storage provider on the Internet, and they do all of the necessary provisioning for you. Disadvantage is that online storage is much slower, as even the fastest Internet connection is nowhere near as fast as a local computer to drive connection.
So for local backups, I tend to use Macrium Reflect to do all of my backups. I tend to backup way more than just my documents, I even backup my entire system boot drive, just in case the drive fails, so that I can restore it and get back up and running again. But not everyone needs that level of sophistication, so you can also use the built-in backup program that comes with Windows. It's a basic backup program (called "File History" in Windows 10), it can backup and restore whatever files you choose to backup.

If you want to backup to the cloud, then you can simply sync your files up on a cloud drive, like Google Drive, or Microsoft OneDrive.
