If no competition exists (meaning 1 player), is it a win or loss?

I know neither is the real answer, but if had to pick.

Example - dodgeball or gaga played alone. Person takes a ball and strikes themselves as there is no one else to do so. Is this winning or losing?

Presumably there is still a win condition, because you're playing against the rules of the game.
For example if you're competing in an assault course, the win condition is getting to the end, or solving a puzzle, or whatever. SO you CAN win, or you CAN lose, on your own.

If you're playing dogeball on your own - you win the game, but lose in life.
