If an artist or band you loved had different political and social views than yourself would you stop supporting them?
I read an article this morning about fans who walked out of Morrissey's show in Glasgow because he made some disagreeable comments about Nicola Sturgeon. Really, people?

If anyone wants to give up their tickets for the 2018 UK tour, I'll happily take them off of your hands.

One of my favorite artists, Maynard James Keenan, and his band A Perfect Circle, recorded an entire album with all anti-war tracks called eMotive. I enjoyed playing it during one of my yearlong deployments to Iraq. How’s that for irony.
I still listen to the albums of young jazz artists who actively support the BLM, which I consider to be a hate group. I have to say, though, that I would NOT and have NOT bought anything more or new by these artists once I discovered their horse blinkered support.
Politics and music shouldnt go together. But artists are going to do it. Music is meant to be fun and entertaining. And for a select group a source of income. Enough so they dont need to get a real job. Politics are such a polarizing topic that it takes away from the music. I dont give two sh*ts about an artists political views. They are artists not congressmen, senators, or any other political figure. If they want to go off and start talking about politics, its their right to do so. I care whether or not the album they released is good or not.
Hi Liv. Yeah, this is something I don't get. Why do some people have to mix politics into everything? And automatically condemn anyone who expresses views they disagree with? If you're conservative it doesn't make Alice in Chains or the Black Crowes any less awesome, and Lynyrd Skynrd and Ted Nugent rock just as hard for liberals as they do conservatives. One thing has nothing to do with the other. That being said, those and other bands do bring it on themselves by being so outspoken about their political leanings, seemingly feeling like their celebrity gives them a platform to effect social change. I really wish all celebrities would simply stfu about politics, but I realize that's about as likely as my sprouting wings. Until they do, I try to treat their ramblings and posturing as I do fiction, by first suspending my disbelief. Once I do that I can enjoy something simply for what it is, without facts or my own opinions getting in the way.
