You are in a Guard Unit. That unit probably has a specific mission and you are filling a slot in that unit. For example, some Guard units are heavy construction and you might be a loader operator. So just how is it going to work if you go from that job to another job? First off, the other job has to be open in the same Guard unit or you will have to go to a different Guard unit. For example, you unit is based in LA and the only opening is up in San Francisco. And just how willing will your unit be to give you up and create a hole in their roster? All you can do is ask but you are fighting an uphill battle.

Go to your base HR and request the General Information - Enlisted MOS list you're inquiring about other than getting it from an unreliable source like yahoo Answer, because there maybe certain requirements information to change from one to the other you're not going to find in here.

Any change to another AFSC will have to be supported and approved by you commander. Then your unit will have to pay for you to go back on active duty and attend AIT for you to become qualified in your new MOS. Those monies come out of your unit funds for training and so that could be a real show stopper. You also have to have the qualifying test scores for whatever job field that new MOS is in as well as pass any additional physical requirements before you can be slotted for or into it. For your aircrew and flying slots for instance that requires you passing a flight physical which is more stringent and has some additional requirements to qualify for those MOSs in that job field. Most commanders would be reluctant to approve this unless you were wanting to go to an MOS they were having trouble getting eligible candidates to sign up or enlist into especially since you have only been at your current MOS for a year. Your commander will first want to recover some of that funding they spent for you to get your current MOS through you serving in it before they will allow you to crosstrain into something else. Administratively there also usually is a two year restriction on anyone cross training into another MOS for this reason. So do some checking with your top or first sergeant, and those others in your chain of command but don't be surprised if they are reluctant or indifferent to the idea this early for you to do this.

The National Guard only has so many positions they are allowed fill. They can't just randomly change your MOS unless there is a shortage in the field you want to go in to and an excess in the field you are in now. Especially if the new MOS requires specialized training. Next time you show up for a weekend drill, ask your unit command staff.
