In Octanol-water partitioning the two phases are far from entirely immiscible.how may affect the partitioning coefficient for a hydrophobic?
Discuss how this may affect the partitioning coefficient for a hydrophobic compound such as cyclohexane. Would you expect Kp to be higher or lower than in a partitioning experiment using n-hexane and water as the two bulk phases (n-hexane and water are essentially immiscible so in this case you would see the partitioning between two almost pure phases).
