Military exercises were suspended, and he got a mini vacation, some publicity, and a good meal or two. Hardly a "win" on the scale most of you are making it out to be.

as to the suspension of military exercises... they are vital to the preparedness of the American and South Korean forces who would have to work together to oppose an incursion into the South. anything that reduces that level of readiness is a MAJOR tactical win for Li'l Kim.
i'll say this much: Reagan remained rhetorically strong against our adversaries - most of whom were brutal tyrants. today's conservatives seem to enjoy cozying up to them....
and as a veteran of the US Army, when Trump returned the salute of that North Korean general he hocked a great big loogie right into my face and the faces of every one of my brethren who EVER served in uniform. while we never formally declared war on North Korea, our ally South Korea DID.., and are still technically in a State of War with the North.
i'd like to hope you can respect THAT view.
