Won't an EMP wipe out cryptocurrencies and everyone will lose their assets, even the miners will be out of the winnings?

There could be a solar flare that knocks out all electricity and fries all of the computers and the entire cryptocurrency ledgers would be gone. for. ever.

Very interesting thought. There is a reason there are data storage locations built into mountains around the world...with the storage areas surrounded by Faraday cages...to protect against EMPs specifically.

Does everyone have their crypto stored in these...nope.

A really devastating solar flare would likely render any currency irrelevant...

So don't invest in these - problem solved. When was the last time we had an emp?? 60 million years ago when the dinosaurs were wiped out??
