If I buy fresh Colombian coffee beans from Colombia, can I take them home to the U.S?

I'm currently planning a trip to Colombia from San Diego and I would like to know if it's possible to buy some coffee beans there and bring them home. Thanks in advance

Check with customs. It may be possible to buy from certain establishments, and have them ship to your home.

Un-roasted? I'm 99.9% sure that would be illegal - it's a plant / fruit. You couldn't bring in other fruit, so how can you bring in coffee beans. Roasted - no problem.
