Girlfriend moved away to college?

Me and my girlfriend have been dating for around 4 months and it is something that both of us really enjoy. She just graduated high school and is off to college while I’m a year younger so I am starting my senior year of high school. She went to the college that I want to go to as well so assuming I will get in, we will be able to be much closer together if we can get through this upcoming year. She is only around 30 minutes away and I will be able to see her most weekends. This is just a massive change as we saw each other practically everyday over the summer but we both just want to do everything to make sure this thing lasts. What is the best way to approach this situation?

Take it a day at a time and don't think too far ahead. She is going to become more and more busy with classes, new friends, and campus activities. She can't make you any promises or make you a priority. That is just a reality you need to accept. Maybe you will make it, but probably you won't. Fighting the inevitable and fretting about the future is more likely to break you up than just going with the flow and hoping for the best.

Break up. That's the best way.

You are at two different places in your lives. She will have all sorts of demands on her with college and probably won't have as much time for you. Her weekends will be filled with college events and things for clubs and activities she is part of. Since you aren't a student there, it'll be harder for her to include you in them.

I would just focus on your senior year of high school and let her focus on her freshman year of college. You have been dating for 4 months. That is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Its better to end things now while you're on good terms than to try to hold on to something that will likely fade away by Thanksgiving due to different schedules and demands.

Really the best way is to break up for now. Allow each of you to date others and have this coming year to grow and mature. In a year you will be two different people then you are now. Especially her, college is an exciting new time. She'll meet many new people.
If next summer you both decide you still want to be together, fine. But for now, freedom will work best.
