brand new washer with water in it?

I just received a brand new washer from the store. Usually, the delivery guys would install it and test run it to make sure its working before leaving. However, not this time since I was having my floor redone so they set the washer aside without installing.

Today, I tried to move the washer to install it myself. I heard there was water moving inside.

Did I receive a refurbished item? if so, I wonder how many times they have successfully gotten away with it since installing and test running are part of the routine delivery service.

could well be the case. did you try to register the washer using the serial number? if that fails because the serial number is already registered to someone else, the case is proved.

That's normal.

Normal for there to be a bit of water in a new washing machine- I have installed many of them when I sold appliances. The pumps are always tested before shipping and a bit of water is left in the pump to keep the seals from drying out. You can simply lower the drain hose and drain it into a bucket.. But pretty standard for water to be in there.

you need to ask them about that but not likely a store would sell a used washer as new
