Why is rhino sweat pink?

Rhiniceroses do not sweat. They do not have sudoriferous (sewat) glands.

Hippopotamuses do not sweat either. They do, however, secrete from their dermis (skin) a glossy, brownish-red secretion that is referred to as 'blood sweat'. This is a poor name for it because it is neither sweat nor blood. It is believed to protect the hippo's sensitive skin from sun.
